Protect the trust!

"Trust did not create the welfare state, but the welfare state could not exist without trust." That is one of many ways of describing how important trust is to the Nordic model. Other countries look to the Nordic region for inspiration and study how we organise the labour market. But trust could also be a boss giving employees the power to run the business, and using working hours for other things than attending staff meetings. That is the case at the City of Copenhagen's libraries (above). Here customers are trusted to let themselves in any time of day.
