Karen Ellemann: All of the Nordics in Nato “positive in every way”

The Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers believes Nordic cooperation will be even stronger when all of the Nordic countries are Nato members. But during the Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø, Karen Ellemann repeated that a council of defence ministers is not presently being planned.

A stonger Nordic region in Nato

"A stronger Nordic region that is ready to defend itself and each other is positive in every way," said the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Karen Ellemann, during the Arctic Frontiers conference.

Arctic Frontiers

Annual conference in Tromsø, Norway, that gathers international leaders, local politicians, scientists and representatives of indigenous peoples from all of the eight Arctic nations to debate challenges and opportunities in the Arctic. Russia has not been invited since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
