Became a role model in Norway after NASA visit

Each year, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise NHO holds a competition for young female students. Farhat Fazli (above) entered and became one of five winners who got to visit NASA in Houston.

That opened her eyes to the scale of gender imbalance in STEM occupations.

“I realised just how big a problem this really is, and how few women there are. That is why I got very engaged in the issue,” said Farhat Fazil, who also agreed to become a role model for the Girls and Technology project.

Her everyday job is being a technical construction leader at OPAK, a Norwegian construction consultancy.
