Danish drive against sexual harassment at work

Sexual harassment in the workplace must end, say the government and the social partners. Clearer rules for psychological work environments came into force on 1 November 2020.

Two dramatic moments this autumn in Denmark:

Presenter Sofie Linde talks about how she, as a young employee, was sexually harassed by an older, well-known male TV personality, thereby setting off another metoo wave in Denmark.

That rolled rapidly on and into politics, leading to the retirement of two politicians in two unrelated metoo cases. First Morten Østergaard, the leader of the Social Liberal Party, then deputy leader of the Social Democrats and Copenhagen Mayor Frank Jebsen (above, right).
