- Reports to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Interior.
- Gathers, processes and publishes statistics on Danish society.
- Employs some 550 people.
- The CPR register

Short for the Central Civil Register.
- The system was introduced in 1968 in Denmark and in 1972 in Greenland. People living in the Faroe Islands are not part of the CPR.
- All Danish citizens and people with permission to stay in Denmark are given a 10 digit CPR number, which acts as a personal ID number.
- The CPR registry contains a lot of other personal information beyond the ID number – like your name, address, birth information, family information, civil status, citizenship and gender. Since 2014 people who want to change gender have been able to change their CPR number.
