Stress a main threat

The final hours before the new airport on the Faroe Islands opens and the builders are rushing to do the final touches (picture above). Stress is one of the main threats to the Work Environment in Europe.

Eurofound

European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) was established in 1975 and aims to improve living and working conditions in Europe. It is a three-partite cooperation. 

The organisation is headed by Juan Menéndez-Valdés and is based in Dublin, Ireland.

European Agency for Safety and Health at Work

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work was established in 1996 and is a network organisation with focal points in all EU countries as well as in the Efta countries, candidate countries and potential candidate countries.

Its task is to make Europe’s workplaces safer, healthier and more productive. This is to be achieved through compiling and spreading knowledge and information for a better work culture which aims to prevent risks.

The organisation is led by Christa Sedlatshek and is based in Bilbao, Spain.

NIVA

The Nordic Institute for Advanced Training in Occupational Health is a training institute funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Is has as its mandate to deliver advanced level training in occupational health and safety for researchers, practitioners, experts and specialists in the field.

NIVA was established in 1982 and shares offices with the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
