On 16 May, Sweden hosted a Nordic labour market meeting at Fryshuset in Stockholm, as part of Sweden’s Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Ahead of the meeting, Nordic labour market ministers were invited to a panel debate on young people’s opportunities to enter the labour market.
The main focus was young people who are struggling to enter the labour market, and the measures needed to prevent long-term youth unemployment.
Sweden was represented by Minister for Employment Hillevi Engström and Minister for Finance Anders Borg. Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt also participated alongside his Nordic colleagues.
